Getting there & location
From Neuchâtel station, the casino is around a five-minute walk downhill. More conveniently, the Fun'ambule funicular connects the station directly with the Jardin Anglais by the casino. Alternatively, bus lines 101 and 121 run to the Université stop right outside the casino.
The casino is centrally located on the Neuchâtel lakefront and is reached via the A5 motorway, Neuchâtel-Centre exit. From Bern, the A1/A5 takes around 45 minutes; from Lausanne the drive via the A5 takes about an hour, and from Biel around 30 minutes.

History & Background
The Casino Neuchâtel is housed in La Rotonde, a tradition-rich cultural and ballroom venue on the Neuchâtel lakefront. After the Federal Council decided in 2010 to tender a new Type B licence for the Neuchâtel region, the Kursaal Bern group's project was awarded the licence in 2011. Kongress + Kursaal Bern AG invested around CHF 20 million in converting La Rotonde, integrating valuable original features such as the historic stained-glass windows into the new design. On 23 November 2012 the casino opened its doors, replacing the earlier gaming operation at La Rotonde. It has been the only licensed casino in the canton of Neuchâtel ever since. At the end of November 2023 the Federal Council renewed the Type B licence for a further 20 years, securing the location for the long term.
