Getting there & location
From Fribourg station, TPF buses run towards Granges-Paccot to near Forum Fribourg, a journey of around 10 minutes. From the city centre the casino can also be reached on foot in about 30 to 40 minutes.
The casino is directly at the Fribourg-Nord exit of the A12 motorway (Bern–Vevey), right next to Forum Fribourg. It is around 30 minutes from Bern and about 45 minutes from Lausanne. The venue is signposted from the exit.

History & Background
The Casino Barrière Fribourg was the first casino in the canton of Fribourg. The Confederation granted Casino Barrière de Fribourg SA a Type B licence on 3 March 2003, and the venue opened its doors in Granges-Paccot next to Forum Fribourg as early as 15 March 2003. Behind the operation is the French Groupe Barrière, which launched the Casino Barrière Montreux at the same time and later took over the Casino du Jura in Courrendlin as a third Swiss venue. Over the years the location has established itself as a fixture of Fribourg nightlife, with around 150 machines, classic table games, poker tournaments and the restaurant Le Dzodzet. From 2020 until the end of October 2025 the group also ran the Swiss online casino GAMRFIRST under the licence of its sister venue in Montreux, before withdrawing from the online business in Switzerland. The land-based casino in Granges-Paccot continues to operate unchanged.
