Getting there & location
Bad Ragaz station is on the SBB Zurich–Chur line and is around 15 minutes' walk from the casino. Local buses connect the station with the Grand Resort, and the casino is right by the resort grounds.
Take the A13 motorway to the Bad Ragaz exit, then follow the signs to the Grand Resort and casino within a few minutes. The drive takes around an hour from Zurich and about 20 minutes from Chur.

History & Background
The casino tradition in Bad Ragaz goes back to 1928, when the Grand Hotels Bad Ragaz received a licence for a Kursaal casino with boule. Under the new Swiss Gambling Act, Bad Ragaz was granted a Type B licence in October 2001, and after just eleven months of construction the Casino Bad Ragaz opened on 27 December 2002 as the first casino in the canton of St. Gallen and the first purpose-built casino in Switzerland. In 2023 Grand Resort Bad Ragaz AG acquired all shares in Casino Bad Ragaz AG and has been the sole owner ever since. That same year the venue was extensively renovated for around CHF 4 million and reopened at the end of November 2023 in art deco style, with restructured gaming areas, a flexible event space and modernised technology. The Federal Council also granted the casino its licence for the years 2025 to the end of 2044.
