Getting there & location
The TILO S-Bahn (lines S10 and S50, Lugano–Chiasso–Como) stops at Mendrisio San Martino station right by the FoxTown outlet, from where the casino is a few minutes' walk. The casino is also quickly reached on foot or by bus from Mendrisio main station.
The casino is immediately at the Mendrisio exit of the A2 motorway (the Gotthard route Zurich–Chiasso). It is around 15 kilometres from Lugano, about 15 kilometres from Como and roughly 50 kilometres from Milan. The Chiasso-Brogeda border crossing is only about five minutes away by car.

History & Background
The Casinò Admiral in Mendrisio opened in 2002 with a Type B licence from the Swiss Federal Gaming Board (ESBK) and benefited from the outset from its location right on the A2 motorway and the Italian border, as well as from its proximity to the FoxTown outlet. The venue is operated by Casinò Admiral SA, which belongs to ACE SWISS Holding AG and thus to the wider Novomatic group. Over the years Mendrisio has grown into by far the highest-grossing Type B casino in Switzerland: in 2023 its gross gaming revenue was CHF 74.1 million, placing it among the country's highest-grossing land-based casinos. On 29 November 2023 the Federal Council granted the new licence for the years 2025 to 2044. Since early 2025, slot machines from sister company Novomatic have been in use for the first time, and in July 2025 the venue launched its own online casino, admiral.ch. Through formal agreements, the casino also supports cultural, tourism and sports projects in the Mendrisiotto region.
