The stops for LIEmobil bus lines 11, 13, 14 and 70 are right by the casino. The nearest major railway station is Feldkirch (ÖBB) in Austria, around 5 kilometres away, with buses running across the border to Schaanwald.
From Austria, take the A14 Rheintal/Walgau motorway to the Feldkirch exit, then head via Tisis to the Schaanwald border crossing (the casino is around 200 metres past the crossing). From Switzerland, take the A13 to the Haag exit, cross the Rhine bridge to Bendern and continue via Nendeln to Schaanwald. The casino is directly on the Feldkirch–Vaduz main road.

History & Background
The basis of Liechtenstein's casino boom is the Gambling Act of 2010, which came into force at the start of 2011. After the country switched from a concession system to a licensing system in 2016, its first casinos opened in 2017. The Casino Schaanwald followed in October 2017 as the second venue, a few weeks after the casino in Ruggell, making it one of the oldest casinos in Liechtenstein. It is operated by Casinos Austria (Liechtenstein) AG, a subsidiary of the Casinos Austria group. In the following years the density of casinos in the Principality grew sharply, leading to a referendum on a casino ban in 2023; voters rejected the ban clearly. While several venues in the country have since closed again, in 2026 the Casino Schaanwald is one of the few remaining established casinos in Liechtenstein and benefits from its location right at the border crossing to Feldkirch.
